So you may need a better quality aerial system, lets face it most aerial systems have been happily sitting on your roof for the best part of 20 years the cable will be worn and probably single screened the lashing wire and mast will be rusting you may even be unlucky enough to have water ingression via the old torn cable. So if it looks bad, then yes you may need a new system.
If you happily go and spend £500 on a new tv, why even think twice about renewing your aerial system, bring it up to date and enjoy the benefits of modern television, with the digital transmission if its not spot on, you will suffer with picture freeze and blocking, not like a bit of a “snowy picture”. Now with talk of high definition broadcast the importance of quality alignment and quality cabling to carry the signal to the end unit is paramount .
